Speaking classes: Travel to...

... Uruguay


Andrés explained why it would be great to visit this "little big country", like
the food and the beautiful and extensensive beaches.

... Scotland
Sara gave us seven reasons to visit that beautiful country, for example, the
amazing landscapes and the old castles.


... United Arab Emirates
Diego made his travel guide to the UAE, so he told us a few things from
each stat and why we should go and visit them.

... Thailand

Lauren and Gina made their speaking class about why we should go to this
exotic country, to enjoy a new and completly different culture.

... Philipinas
Finaly, Ruth and I, used prezi to explain ten wonderful reasons to go to this
amazing and paradisiac islands, as you can see in my last post.

Twitter

The speaking class of today was about Twitter. Mar has explained  us a few things about twitter today. She told us how to use it and the things that you can do on this social network. She also showed us some famous people's profiles and said us that normally, they don't write anithing on he social networks, because they have an administrator.

MarvinSketch

Today, Ana made her first presentation for our speaking class. 

It was about MarvinSketch, is a chemical structure drawing tool. MarvinSketch in particular has been popular with free structure-searchable databases.

I think this program is not very useful.

Spotify

Today Peter made his speaking class about Spotify. He explained us a few things about the program and it's utilities and then we discuss about the pros and cons. I think a pro is that you can discover new music but ther's a con, you can't own that music. That con started another discussion: what do you prefer, to own your music or it's ok just listen to it. I think it's much better to own your music and be able to listen to it everywere.

GPS

This class we spoke about the GPS (Global Positioning System). Kike made a presentation about it explaining us the different uses that the GPS can have. A very original one was to use it to find a "treasure" that is hidden in a amazing place with beautiful landscapes. But I think the most useful one is to use it to look how to go to any place when you are, for example, traveling.

CAD

On this speacking class, Diego spoke about CAD.


CAD (Computer-Aided Design) is the use of computer technology for the process of design and design-documentation. It describes the process of drafting with a computer. This software provides the user with input-tools for the purpose of streamlining design processes.
I think CAD is a very useful program. 

SoundCloud

The last speaking class, Peter presented his power-point about SoundCloud. 

SoundCloud is an online program where you can upload and download music. Also you can listen other people's music, coment songs and follow groups or people. I have an account and I think it's very nice and a good way to discover new groups and music.

Diferences between RenRen and Facebook

                VS.

My power-point for the speaking class was about facebook and our teacher Ana, told us that we haver to post some differences between  RenRen and facebook. RenRen is avery famous social network in China, it's probably the closest thing to facebook.

DIFFERENCES:

• RenRen does not make most of its revenue from advertising the way facebook does.
• RenRen has a visitor counter in each profile.
• Facebook has relationship status and family information.
• You can customize RenRen's background.
• At RenRen you can make a couple profile if you want.
•  RenRen has a limitation of characters in it's status of 150 characters

Google+

This week Peter presented us his work for the speaking class about Google+. He expleined us a few things like how to join, the privacy settings and other aplications. At the end we discussed about the pros and cons of Google+,  Tuenti and Facebook. I think that the best one is Facebook because it has mor users, more applications and it's more international. But Google+ and  Tuenti have a better privacyty. 

Tuenti

This week Ruth made her power-point for the speaking class. It was about tuenti, the biggest spanish social network. It is very simmilar to facebook but they have some differences. For exapmle, in facebook you can like comments, status, pictures or whatever and in tuenti you just can like pictures and status. Another difference is that in tuenti, there is a profile's visitor counter. At the end of Ruth's presentation, we discussed about wich social network do we use more. Most of the class use tuenti and I do too because most of my friends prefer it. But I think facebook is better.

Bangalore's big change.

In our first speaking class Winny talk us about the outsourcing in india. That country has changed a lot because of that. A very good example is a city called Bangalore. This two pictures are showing an important street of Bangalore 20 years ago and nowdays.
